Superfoods for your eyes

Superfoods for your Eyes and Health

Orange fruits and vegetables, such as carrots and sweet potatoes, are rich in beta-carotene.  When we eat those foods, our bodies convert the beta-carotene into Vitamin A, which is essential for maintaining a strong immune system. They’re also superfoods for your eyes.

Vitamin A is especially important for areas that are affected when we get a cold:  It keeps the mucous membranes that line our nose and throat – one of the body’s first lines of defense – healthy and functioning properly.

The surface of our eyes have a similar membrane which needs Vitamin A.  Our retina inside the eyes also needs Vitamin A to function properly; another reason to eat these superfoods for your eyes.

So, eat those orange carrots and sweet potatoes to help avoid colds this winter and to keep your vision bright! They’re superfoods for your eyes.
